They gave us chocolate, corn, guacamole, and chiles, and have even more to offer spiritually.

The people who inhabited America before our contemporary civilization were as complex, intelligent, and lovely as any who live today, and their cultures were as varied, contradictory, and expressive. They were great artisans, poets, warriors, thinkers, astronomers, mathematicians. Yes, the ancient Americans degenerated, exactly like our beloved Greeks and Romans, yet the former cultures of the Americas remain widely ignored. Most importantly, at its heart the mysticism of the ancient Americans is completely in harmony with the mysticism of the Egyptians, Buddhists, Christians, Greeks, Jews, Hindus, and so on, and when we study them all, we start to see the place they come from: the one, universal religion.

In Aztec Christic Magic, Samael Aun Weor illuminates many of the significant symbols of the Aztec spiritual tradition, while also providing a series of practical methods to awaken consciousness and experience the truth for ourselves. Through meditation, awakening in the world of dreams, and transmuting the sexual energy, anyone can rise out of suffering and establish a life of happiness.

“The world of ignorance is governed by fear, hate, greed, and lust. In it wander men and women floating listlessly, to and fro, upon their passions only. Only when the human being realizes the spiritual verities of life does he then escape from this underworld... The sun of truth rises in the human being and illuminates his world when he lifts his mind from the darkness of ignorance and selfishness into the light of wisdom and altruism." ―Samael Aun Weor

His name is Hebrew סמאל און ואור, and is pronounced “sam-ayel on vay-or.” You may not have heard of him, but Samael Aun Weor changed the world.

In 1950, in his first two books, he became the first person to reveal the esoteric secret about sex that was hidden in all the world’s great religions, and for that, accused of “healing the ill,” he was put in prison. Nevertheless, he did not stop. Between 1950 and 1977 – merely twenty-seven years – not only did Samael Aun Weor write over sixty books on the most difficult subjects in the world, such as consciousness, kabbalah, physics, tantra, meditation, etc., in which he deftly exposed the singular root of all knowledge — which he called Gnosis — he simultaneously inspired millions of people across the entire span of Latin America: stretching across twenty countries and an area of more than 21,000,000 kilometers, founding schools everywhere, even in places without electricity or post offices.

During those twenty-seven years, he experienced all the extremes that humanity could give him, from adoration to death threats, and in spite of the enormous popularity of his books and lectures, he renounced an income, refused recognitions, walked away from accolades, and consistently turned away those who would worship him. He held as friends both presidents and peasants, and yet remained a mystery to all.

“I do not follow anyone; therefore no one should follow me.” —Samael Aun Weor, Practical Astrology

When one reflects on the effort and will it requires to perform even day to day tasks, it is astonishing to consider the herculean efforts required to accomplish what he did in such a short time. But, there is a reason: he was a man who knew who he was, and what he had to do. A true example of compassion and selfless service, Samael Aun Weor dedicated the whole of his life to freely helping anyone and everyone find the path out of suffering. His mission was to show all of humanity the universal source of all spiritual traditions, which he did not only through his writings and lectures, but also through his actions.

"There are authors who write marvels, but when one looks at them, one realizes that they have not lived what they have written; they did not experience it in themselves, and that is why they are mistaken. I understand that one must write what one has directly experienced by oneself. I have proceeded in this way on my part." - Samael Aun Weor, Tarot and Kabbalah (1978)

"The mind must free itself from all kinds of “schools,” religions, sects, beliefs, etc. All those “cages” are obstacles which render the mind incapable of thinking freely. It is necessary for the mind to become free of the illusions of this world and become a fine and marvelous instrument of the Inner Being." - Samael Aun Weor

Good insights on the structure of the mayan & Aztec religions along with useful practices at the end of chapters.
Very insightful to discover how truth is taught in all periods yet difficult to recognize thru metaphors, allegories & symbolism modern society is unaccustomed to.

This is a great book for anyone interested in Native American religion, the principles of Gnosis, meditation, and lucid dreaming. It is one of Samael Aun Weor’s more advanced books, making it different and challenging to comprehend, but the difficult challenge makes it all the more rewarding. It is a unique book that offers practical instructions at the end of many the chapters for developing dream yoga and astral projection skill, which work very effectively and allow for deeper comprehension of the content of the book through knowledge from experience. I am very happy to have an esoteric understanding of Aztec and Christian correlations.

Kabbalah originates from the root word “Kabbel,” which means “to receive.” Contrary to popular belief, it is not intellectual knowledge weaned from books, lectures, or sermons, but the wisdom a person obtains directly from divinity through the path of meditation, regardless of the religion, culture, time, or place. It is with this basis that one can understand how Kabbalah, the structure or diagram known as the Tree of Life, is present in every mystical tradition, including the Aztecs.

Aztec Christic Magic is a dense book that requires a lot of prior knowledge to understand and appreciate, specifically since Samael Aun Weor wrote it near the end of his life as the culmination of texts and knowledge on Alchemy and Kabbalah. Without this basis, one will be lost, because the author compares the Aztec pantheon and mythology with the different Sephiroth of the Kabbalah, the latter which he does not go into tremendous details in this work because he had already explained the Tree of Life and the nature of Christ in other books.

If you have been studying Samael Aun Weor, the Kabbalah, and his books on psychology, then this book can help you build your meditation practice if you are very dedicated, because the suggestions in this work require some foundation in meditation and understanding of the Tree of Life and the nature of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (the tradition known as alchemy).

Another fantastic book by Samael Aun Weor. This book demonstrates that the mysticism of the ancient Americans is completely in harmony with that of the Egyptians, Buddhists, Christians, Greeks, Jews, Hindus, and so on, since all originated from the one, universal religion.

I highly recommend this author's work. Lovers of philosophy, gnosticism, esotericism, mysticism, sex magic (sex without orgasm), and Kundalini will appreciate Samael Aun Weor. If you are on the spiritual path, this author's books are all you need.

Among Samael Aun Weor's books, this is one of those destined for the more advanced students. Of course that, being a book, it doesn't impose upon the reader requirements or exams, but the knowledge inside does.

If you want to make yourself familiar with Samael Aun Weor's work I would suggest starting with "Introduction to Gnosis" or even "The Perfect Matrimony". If you are not familiar with his works and start with this, I am afraid there is a good chance you will waste your time. I repeat, this is not a book for beginners.

After reading several Samael books, and this one, the only conclusion regarding this author is:
How this guy mixes everything with no true analysis, just wishful thinking!
This is a simple mix-up of any ideas the author likes, he finds relations and equivalences between totally different structures, even between opposing concepts, with a total lack of analysis and reason.
There is NO "christic, kabbalah" elements in the Aztec Magic, neither in other Native American Wisdom. It is a totally different mind frame.
What he says is just plain nonsense.
Stay away from this guy, is just crazy pseudo-knowledge.
