The previous reviewer obviously had a bad experience. The books I received - volumes 1 and 2 - were new and in good condition. The print was clear and a good size, the paper quality was good, and the books were clean. My only disappointment was the binding. These paperback books, like so many others, do not seem to be glued well at the spine. Volume 1 was OK but volume 2 was not glued well and I am not sure how it will hold up. I don't know if the hardcover editions would be better. This is the Jowett translation of the dialogues and if that is what you are looking for, this is probably the best printed version you are going to find.

The set itself is nice. Small print, but that's to be expected since there is so much content, but it's very readable print. I think there might have been plans for a volume 3 that never came about. Several dialogues are missing. This is what the two volumes contain:

Volume I:
Alcibiades I, Alcibiades II, Apology, Charmides, Cratylus, Critias, Crito, Euthydemus, Euthyphro, Gorgias, Ion, Laches, Laws, Lysis, Menexenus, Meno, Parmenides.

Volume II:
Phaedo, Phaedrus, Philebus, Protagoras, Sophist, Statesman, Symposium, The Republic, Theaetetus, Timaeus.

What it's missing:
Clitophon, Epinomis, Hipparchus, Hippias Major, Hippias Minor, Letters (Epistles), Lovers, Minos, Theages.

This is a poor printout of what is available online.
On top of that the pages were filled with a certain dust (dirt) that made it impossible to open the pages and read the book.

The publishers ensured that the book was unreadable. Had to purchase a copy from elsewhere and made me wary of purchasing books from here.
