This small paperback Bible is a great purchase. It's a good translation of scripture, and there are plenty of solid notes to help you grow in the faith. Theologically, some folks can get pretty heavy, and some bibles have so much material, and so many translation notes, pretty soon all you end up doing is regurgitating the note you've read about scripture, rather than letting God speak to you through his word.
This bible is limited in study material, but just has enough to help a person build a foundation. God desires that we mine his word for truth, not just accept someone's word about God's word. This bible is like the shovel and pick you need to start mining his word.
Purchase this, and be blessed. Very happy that I have this, even being saved for many years, I still need to be reminded of the basics at times. A new believer will be blessed as well.

I use this bible for my daily reading as well as for taking to worship services... that said, the print is really small but I have 20-15 vision so it is not a problem for me (yet, getting older is not for the faint of heart) but if you don't have really good vision then it probably would be difficult to use as anything other than a reference type bible for comparison of the two translations. There are a few things they could do to make the type a bit larger and not increase the size of the bible (which it is fairly large due to being a parallel). There are no maps, no words of Christ in red, no glossary, and no concordance. I would still give the 5th star if the margins were just a bit bigger to give room for note taking.
